SUPPLEMENT TO Report #81-3
ti. May 6, 1981
APPLICATION FOR REVISION OF A BUILDING PERMIT 11?r5,
LP-110 RCE CORPORATION
PURPOSE
To consider a request to amend a building permit application, LP-110
for an addition to the Rice Creek Center.
BACKGROUND
APPLICANT: Richard Ernst, RCE Corporation
LOCATION: Rice Creek Center
PAST COUNCIL ACTION: At its regular meeting January 13, 1981
the Council approved a request for a
building permit (LP-110) to construct a
12,000 (80' x 150') square foot
addition to the shopping center. This
addition was attached to the southern
portion of the existing center.
Secondly, the Council approved a
variance VN-217 with conditions. One
condition of the variance approval was
that the parking spaces be re-striped to
meet the revised zoning code.
APPLICANT'S PROPOSAL
The applicant proposes to alter the site plan by moving the addition
to the east of the existing, building and,not attach the two buildings.
Staff feels that the modification is significant enough to require
Council approval. The addition is the same dimension and size as
the previously approved addition.
The parking will be redesigned because of the moving of the building.
STAFF COMMENTS
The proposed amendment to LP-110 meets zoning code requirements. In
regard to the parking variance this proposal provides for 368 parking
spaces. The parking spaces are 9' x 20' which meets the present and
proposed code. Using the proposed parking formula, the number of
spaces required on this site as established under Council approved
VN-217 is 362 spaces. The applicant's proposal provides for 368
parking spaces and therefore meets the condition of variance.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Council by simple motion approve the
amendment to building permit LP-110 contingent on the following:
0
