Staff Comments
Page.#2
C. County Road."D" Improvement
The Ramsey County Engineering Department has notified staff that
the major street plan for Ramsey County indi-cater that additiona l
_ right-of-way is needed for County Road "D" in this specific area.
According to that major street plan, an application for a sub-
division of property must also involve the dedication of .that
right-of-way. This particular instance the major street plan
requires 762 feet from the applicant. However, since the construc-
tion. plans for County Road "D" upgrading in 1982 requires additional
right-of-way of 7 feet staff is requiring as a condition of approval
the dedication of the applicant of only 7 feet at this time.
D. Planning Commission Consideration And Recommendation
Bob McCallum representing the applicant was present to answer
questions.
Commissioner Baker questioned if the requested dedication of an
additional 7 feet was acceptable to the applicant.
Bob McCallum indicated that he was concerned about the dedication of
the 7 feet and the eventual acquisition of a total of 162 feet from
the right-of-way along County Road "D". He further noted however
that the conditions of approval of the variance were acceptable to
the appl,i cant.
Commissioner Livingston inquired if the applicant intended on develop-
ing the property.
Mr. McCallum indicated that the property in the future would be put °
up for sale and that he had no intention at .this time of developing
- the property.
Motion by Sande, second by Baker to wiave the reading and adopt a
resolution making findings of fact and approving variance, UN-222
subject to the following condition:
7. That the applicant dedicate 7 feet to Ramsey County for
additional right-of-way along County P,oad "D".
- 5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried
~~
