.The beach budget is based on a similar beach in Minnetonka <br />with an average yearly at endance of 75,000 compared to <br />New Brighton's.-,500. <br />The Fire Department costs are slightly over stated but are <br />based on figures provided by the fire chief.. The costs for <br />police are based on my estimate of the additional need <br />generated by the development of -the parka The police .chief <br />is on vacation and should be.able to provide more accurate <br />information when he•returns. ' <br />The Park Board after extensive testimony from residents around • <br />the lake and board discussion see July 1 Park Board minutes (attached) <br />took the following action.. Recommended approval of the agreement <br />.with the following changes (deletions struck, additions in parens) <br />page 2, item 2 <br />.The county shall at its sole expense,. provide the maintenance <br />and operation services not listed in paragraph 1 above at a base <br />level of .services approximately equal to those provided at other. <br />regional (and county) parks for which the County is the <br />lxgple~e~~}xg (responsible) agency. This_committee_would <br />include three members of the Park Board, three residents from the <br />Take area- -a.nd--three -members from the community at=large . The -Park --- - <br />Board designated Carlson, Dahl and Olson to represent the board, <br />the Long Lake-Improvement Assn. designated Pat Commers, Jim <br />Borgstrom and Marv Cook to represent the Assn. The three at-large.. <br />members will be solicited via the New Brighton Bulletin of-ter <br />the City Council has acted on the joint powers agreement. <br />This action of the Park Board was discussed with Ramsey County <br />staff, it was the feeling of county staff that the amended <br />agreement- indicated--distrust of the county.-.and would not likely <br />
