This material will
be forwarded to the Park Board on July 1, and to the City Council on
July 14, 1981.
The City is currently in the process of considering entering into a
joint powers agreement with Ramsey County for development, operation
and maintenance of the site. A decision on the joint powers agreement
could occur as early as July 14. When the City and the County have
adopted a joint powers agreement, the next step will be~preparation
and adoption of a master. plan for development, maintenance and operation
of the park.
We appreciate your concern about the future use of the site and I wQUld
like to reiterate my statement that the Staff, Park Board and Council
are committed to citizen involvement in City affairs and encourage
frank and open discussions at all times. The staff is available at
your. convenience. The Park Board meets on the first Wednesday of each
month and the City Council on tl~ie second and fourth Tuesday. All
meetings are public and residents are encouraged to attend. If you are..
interested in having an informational meeting regarding the park, staff
is again willing to attend and update you on the project as well as dis-
cuss your concerns and recommendations.
In order to facilitate communications in the upcoming months, it would
be helpful if the Association could provide the City with names,
addresses and phone numbers of officers and/or spokespersons for the
group. We will attempt to keep you as informed as possible throughout
the process.
The City h©pes to use this valuablQ resource in the most appropriate
way possible. t^P~ recognize that we may not always reach total con-
sensus on all matters but hopefully through our combined efforts we
will be able to adequately serve the needs of New Brighton resic'hent~'.
Homeowners Association
Anders / C~'ctor Park and Recreation
,,~.
