. ,~ <br />r ~ <br />DRAFT <br />JOINT POWERS AGREEb:ENT <br />RELATING TO <br />a MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION <br />' OF LONG LAKE/RUSH LAKE REGIONAL PARK <br />Thin. agreement is made this _ _ day of , <br />19 ,.between the County of Ramsey, State of 1~3innesota .County) <br />an~City of New Brighton, County of Ramsey, State of Pinnesota <br />(City.). -.This agreement is entered into gursuant to Minnesota <br />Statutes Section 471.59 (1980). <br />Whereas, portions of Long Lake/Rush Lake Regional Park are <br />currently owned by the County, and other portions are currently <br />owned by the City, and <br />Whereas, both parties recognize the regional significance of <br />the Long Lake/Rush Lake parks, and <br />Whereas, the County has been designated "implementing agency" <br />to the Metropolitan Council for Long Lake/Rush Lake Regional Park, <br />--and <br />Whereas, the County and City are engaged in negotiations to <br />rectify the problems created by dual ownership of Long Lake/Rush <br />• Lake Regional Park, and <br />Whereas, both parties recognize that the uncertainty of funding <br />for maintenance and operation costs of the regional park has been <br />an impediment to these negotiations and also to development of <br />the park, - <br />The County and <br />operation and maint~ <br />development of Long <br />problems created by <br />as follows: <br />City hereby enter into this agreement regarding <br />en4nce costs for the purposes of e::pediting t:~e <br />Lake/Rush Lake Regional Park and easing the <br />dual ownership of the park, and hereby agree <br />1. The City shall, at its sole expense, provide the maintenance <br />and operation services listed below: <br />a. The City shall provide police services and the <br />attendant attorney services .necessary for <br />prosecution of misdemeanors for the entire. <br />Long Lake/Rush Lake Regional Park. <br />b. The City shall provide fire protection services <br />for the entire Long Lake/Rush Lake Regional Park. <br /> <br />
