Whereas, portions of Long Lake/Rush Lake Regional Park are currently owned by the County, and other portions are currently owned by the City, and Whereas, both parties recognize the regional significance of the Long Lake/Rush Lake parks, and Whereas, the County has been designated "implementing agency" to the Metropolitan Council for Long Lake/Rush Lake Regional Park, --and Whereas, the County and City are engaged in negotiations to rectify the problems created by dual ownership of Long Lake/Rush • Lake Regional Park, and Whereas, both parties recognize that the uncertainty of funding for maintenance and operation costs of the regional park has been an impediment to these negotiations and also to development of the park, - The County and operation and maint~ development of Long problems created by as follows: City hereby enter into this agreement regarding en4nce costs for the purposes of e::pediting t:~e Lake/Rush Lake Regional Park and easing the dual ownership of the park, and hereby agree 1. The City shall, at its sole expense, provide the maintenance and operation services listed below: a. The City shall provide police services and the attendant attorney services .necessary for prosecution of misdemeanors for the entire. Long Lake/Rush Lake Regional Park. b. The City shall provide fire protection services for the entire Long Lake/Rush Lake Regional Park.
