Civic groups, businesses and individuals will be encouraged <br />to participate in planning, funding and construction of <br />park improvements. <br />IMPLEMENTATION <br />1. .Allocate sufficient funds in the annual operating budget to <br />include planting, maintenance and renewal of trees and grounds, <br />2. Explore cooperative agreements with other units of government <br />and School Districts 282 and 621 to fully utilize facilities <br />and services. <br />3. Consider the acquisition. of tax-forfeit or surplus government <br />land for recreation uses which are consistent with adopted park <br />plans. <br />4. Prepare and adopt an active grogram aimed toward protection <br />and maintenance of the natural resources of each park, includin~ <br />preservation of unbuilt upon, open land. <br />5. The Park and Recreation Department, in conjunction with the <br />advisory Park Board, should annually revise their comprehensive <br />park and recreation open space plan and update when necessary. <br />• <br />3/16/81 <br />
