The shelter chosen will have a deck under it. Schmidt asked if there would be a problem with the location of the swings if the kids jump off. Schmitz said any. playground equipment has some risk. The structure his enough opportunities that the kids won't look for other things. Van Hatten asked if a recommendation was needed. • Anderson said not necessary but you can if you'd like. Motion by Van Hatten, seconded by Hogan, to approve the budget and tentative layout for the .playground at Sunny Square. Motion 'passed. Johnson. asked how many acres Sunny Square is. Anderson said just over 6 a~eres. Looking at about 12 acres in the play area. Pat Cobb, resident, asked what the budget was .for the play equipment. Anderson said $25,000. C. Long Lake Article for Newsletter Anderson said the Assistant City Manager has asked each Department Head to submit a major article fox the City Ha11 Newsletter. Would like comments to the one written. The Newsletter goes out to all ,New Brighton 'residents. .Tried to be as objective as possible. Chairperson Dahl asked the Park Board for comments on the article. Grimshaw stated that the first paragraph mentioning the marina sho~ be clarified that the marina was deleted from the current plan. Dahl felt there should be clarification between the plans being discussed; the original plan ;and the current plan.
