<br />NEW $RIGHTON PARK BOARD MINUTES <br />FEBRUARY 3, 1981 <br />I. The meeting was called to order by VicE chairperson Dahl. <br />II. Members present: Carlson, Dahl, Grimshaw, Johnson, Olson, Solberg, <br />Van Hatten, Council Representative Steve Schmidt. <br />Members absent:- Gunderman, Hogari ' <br />III. Minutes of; January 7, 1981 meeting were approved as submitted. <br />Correction to December meeting: Date of meeting. was listed as ' <br />December 4, 1979 on the minutes'; should be December 3~, 1979. <br />IV. Correspondence <br />A. Council Report <br />New Council Representative Steve Schmidt reported on the <br />status of CIP items discussed at the Council-meeting. <br />Schmidt stated that the Public Safety Building and Liquor <br />Store are still unresolved. Downtown. development agreement <br />has been executed but whether or not a hotel goes up affects <br />the Liquor Store. <br />Park items approved are: <br />• Park Signing $ 5,000 <br />Sunny Sq. Play Area $25,000 <br />Long Lake Site Work $10,000 <br />Other Park CIP items were deferred. <br />.Schmidt also commented that ~t the Community Leaders Workshop <br />the.Mayor will relay information on ::the status of•tYie City. <br />Each Council `member will report on a topic.. The topics <br />of discussion are: Cable TV, Long Lake Park, Liquor Store, <br />Public 'Safety Building and Downtown Development. <br />A luncheon at Robert Lee's is planned after the Community <br />,Le~:ders Workshop on February 28th. <br />Schmidt stated that invitations would be sent. <br />B. Gary & Melodie Bankers <br />Anderson stated he had been communicating with the Bankers' and <br />the City .Attorney for about 6 months regarding the possibility <br />of the Bankers' purchasing a piece ofrproperty on the Golf Course <br />(land just before the 1st tee), It is of no use to the City but <br />Anderson's concern was that, we would be setting a precedent for <br />future requests.. ' <br />Solberg asked how long the loan a reement is held for.. <br />g <br />Anderson said there is a 20 year lease with 16 years to go. <br />
