<br />NEW BRIGHTON .PARK BOARD MINUTES <br />JANUARY 7, 1981 <br />I. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chairperson Gunderman. <br />II. All members were present. <br />III. Minutes of December 3, 1980 meeting were approved as submitted. <br />IV. Correspondence <br />A. Council Report <br />Benke stated the Council assigned representatives up for boards <br />and .commissions. Steve Schmidt is the new Council Representative <br />for the Park Board.. <br />Anderson asked what the status of the Capital Improvement Plan is. <br />He expressed concern with preparation of plans, letting bids, etc. <br />prior to construction season. <br />Benke stated it was one item .that wasn't discussed. It has to <br />get back on the agenda. <br />• V. New Business <br />A. Comprehensive Park Plan Update <br />Gunderman asked what the time schedule was for the plan, <br />Anderson stated that much of the Comprehensive Plan is written. <br />He intends to have a rough available for the Park Board to look <br />at in 'February and be to the Council in late March or as soon <br />as possible after Metro Council has demographic information <br />available. <br />B. Long Lake Park Planning <br />Anderson stated the Council was going to give the Park Board <br />direction. <br />Benke said the Council did not take specific action. They are <br />waiting for the Ramsey County Board to reorganize. <br />Benke commented that this is a high priority item of the Council's <br />this year.. He said `the Park Board could help the Council in this <br />area. <br />Anderson asked Benke if Don Salverda is the vehicle to get this <br />• .item moving again. <br />Benke feels all it takes is one board member to get it back on <br />the agenda. <br />
