He feels
it is a good idea to put Veterans Park on the agenda monthly
for update and review. The riew downtown development ~ub-
stantially affects Veterans Park. It seems`that the developers
intend to make many changes to the park. He feels the Council
or Park Board should state, on record, where it stands~on this
issue so that the developers hav an idea of the City's viewpoint.
Anderson responded that there°are two major plans being con-
sidered. The Council will choose between these at the next
meeting. Once staff has developed a plan, it will go to the
boards for recommendation and approval. .The Park Board will
have as much say as they want in the planning and can stay in-
volved to be sure concerns are met.
Benke commented that the Downtown Development Committee has con-
ferred with residents and they don't want to change the location
of the park: They don't want to see it across 10th Street.
Both plans submitted show the park this way.> The Council has tried
to keep the Park Board informed and. urges that a representative
attend each of the Downtown Development. meetings.
Benke stated there ar
the Park Board should
and be informed.
Van Hatten agreed to
garding Veterans Park
town Development will
e definite concerns relating to parks and
certainly stag close to what is happening
be a''represeritative for the Park Board re-
and the Downtown Development.
