Joint Powers Agreement - -2- May 8, 1980
Long Lake Park
strong concern that the programming and maintenance function for
the park would be based on Ramsey County standards and from Ramsey
County's perspective of what a regional.-park facility should be.
It is imperative, from our point of view, that New Brighton be
heavily involved in these functions to ensure high standards ,~.n
keeping with our other park facilities and to ensure a closer inter-
face between park activities and the needs of the local community.
It is our impression that by retaining local control, not only
through the development phase, but in the ongoing maintenance pro-
gramming operations, we will elicit the cooperation and support of
the residents of New Brighton. and will have a functional,. attractive
regional-park site to which residents can look with pride.
With these concerns in mind, the New Brighton Park Board would like
to restate its position of summer '79 for a joint powers agreement
for maintenance and operation of the Long Lake Regional Park site.
