April 2, 1980 Park Board Minutes <br />Page 8 <br />Van Hatten commented that he-has a hard time recalling what. was <br />done at each park. <br />Senden stated that the City should do a better job of keeping <br />residents informed of all construction projects in the City. <br />Carlson commented that it may be a good idea to do it quarterly. <br />Anderson said twice a year should be adequate. <br />Benke stated that major program documentation is what is important. <br />Gunderman thanked the Council for attending .and adding input. <br />B. Long Lake Use/Hendrics <br />Gunderman felt what was written in the Hendrics letter had already <br />been discussed at previous Park Board meetings regarding Long Lake. <br />He stated the Park Board would be willing to talk with him if he <br />wanted to attend one of the meetings. <br />Benke stated the City Manager has been in contact with Mr. Hendrics <br />for some time. <br />Van Hatten suggested sending :a letter to Mr. Hendrics inviting him <br />to the Park Board meeting. <br />Benke mentioned that he was invited to the Council meeting but did <br />not come. <br />Janecek felt something more should be done. <br />Gunderman felt. that if the City Manager has. been. in touch with <br />Mr. Hendrics, there was no need to do more. <br />Benke felt it was appropriate for the Park Board to send a letter. <br />Dahl suggested sending a.letter to Mr. Hendrics stating his letter <br />has been received and has been discussed at the Park Board meeting <br />and if he feels he wants. to discuss it further, he may attend one <br />of the Park. Board meetings. <br />Motion by Dahl, seconded by Grimshaw, that the Chairman .send a <br />letter to Mr. Hendrics stating the Park Board has-taken his letter <br />into. consideration but that the existing ordinance is a result of <br />a compromise reached from many meetings with Long Lake .Homeowners. <br />Motion passed. <br />VI. Old Business <br />A. Comprehensive Park Plan/Goals & Objectives <br />Gunderman distributed the second draft of "Philosophy" and asked <br />for reactions or comments. <br />
