i
The City of Blaine Comprehensive Park Plan establishes a framework for providing
better public outdoor recreation facilities for the citizens of Blaine. The plan was
developed to determine directions and guidelines for park development during
the next five years, 1977-1981. Included in the plan are: 1) an identification and
analysis of present recreation needs and requirements, 2) an inventory of existing
and potential recreational resources, and 3) a recommended plan of action - 5
year Capital Improvement Plan.
This plan represents the coordinated efforts of the City of Blaine Department of
Community Services and the Blaine Park Advisory Commission. It has been
completed in coordination with other city planning efforts and provides
considerable information for the Mandatory Planning Act, a metro area effort of
planned urban growth and development. The plan will be used to supplement
grant applications for Metro, State, and Federal funding programs and will inform
new developers and citizens of park efforts and priorities. This plan and the
implementation programs herein will be reviewed on a continuing basis by the
Park Advisory Commission and City Staff.
