I <br />ti <br />i<_ <br /> <br />COON RAPIDS <br />Regional Setting <br />Blaine, incorporated as a city in 1964, is located <br />approximately 13 miles north of the Twin Cities. <br />In its beginning years it was primarily an agri- <br />cultural community with a population of 506 <br />residents in 1930, Today it is one of the fastest <br />growing cities in Anoka County. The city is SPRING LAKE PARK <br />readily accessible to both Minneapolis and <br />Saint Paul via major thoroughfares of Interstate <br />35W, State Highway #10 and Highway #65. <br />The size of Blaine is approximately 33 square FRI <br />miles; in land area one of the largest Metropoli- <br />tan suburbs.
