Ordinance Draft <br />April 26, 1979 <br />0 <br />Sec. 19-34. <br />No person shall operate a non-motorized watercraft, <br />except a sailboat, in the wake zone of the lake when <br />motor-powered watercraft producing a wake occupy the <br />same half as divided by the channel of the lake. <br />Sec. 19-35. <br />No person shall operate a watercraft producing a wake <br />in a clockwise direction; the only permissable direction <br />for such activities shall be to operate the boat in a <br />counter-clockwise direction. <br />Sec. 19-36. Motorized Vehicles on Lake Surface Ice <br />a. Speed limit. No person shall operate a motorized <br />vehicle in excess of 30 miles per hour. <br />b. .Distance. No person shall operate a motorized <br />vehicle in excess of eight miles per hour within <br />one hundred fifty feet of any fisherman, fish house, <br />pederestrian, skier, skater, skating rink, or other <br />area where such operation would conflict with or <br />endanger other persons or property. <br />c. No person shall operate a motorized vehicle unless <br />headlights and taillights are illuminated. <br />Sec. 19-37. <br />The Director of Parks and Recreation or the City <br />Manager, upon determining that there is probable danger to <br />persons or property, may close the lake surface to all <br />recreational use by posting notice of such order. <br />Sec. 19-38. <br />Violations of the Minnesota Waters and Patercraft Safety <br />Laws and Boat and Water Safety Rules and Regulations Promu- <br />gated by the Minnesota Department of Dtatural Resources. <br />Any person violating the Minnesota Waters and t^7atercraft <br />Safety Laws and the Boat and Water Safety Rules and Regu- <br />lations promulgated by the P•iinnesota Department of Natural <br />Resources, adopted and incorporated herein by reference <br />shall be subject to the penalties and punishment herein- <br />after provided. <br />Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect after its <br />adoption and publication except Sec. 19.31 c and d which <br />shall take effect upon the official opening of the Long <br />Lake Regional Park boat launch. <br />ATTEST: <br />James W.
