Anderson, Director Park and Recreation
z
z Re: 1979 Capital Improvements Program
z
0
~ The 1979-82 Capital Improvement Plan includes the following
~ Capital Improvement Projects for 1979.
m
w 1. Playground Equipment $10,000.00
z 2. Development Hidden Oaks East $45,000.00
p 3. Tennis Court, Totem Pole $15,000.00
~ 4. Tennis Court Repair, Hansen Park $20,000.00
~ 5. Hansen Park Improvements $50,000.00
w
Y The Hansen Park Improvements(#5) were approved by the Council-
~ as a part of the 1979 budget process. The reason being that
~ this project is funded with Revenue Sharing funds and because
j of federal requirements must be included in the regular budget
•' -' process.
~ The remaining projects are funded by liquor receipts and be-
~' cause of the recent transitions involving city managers, have
z not yet been presented to the Council for funding approval.
w
H
~ It is my recommendation that the $10,000 budgeted for playground
a equipment be increased to $12,000 to allow for installation ex-
p penses. It is becoming apparent that our Park Department per-
z sonnel will not be able to install this equipment in 1979. I
_o also recommend that the amount budgeted for Hansen Park improve-
~"' ments be increased to $60,000. It is highly improbable that the
Q
w $50,000 projected for 1979 and the $25,000 for 1980 will be ade-
- v quate to complete the work in the renovation plan recently approved
w by the Park Board.

z
1

a

%~f/~'
