AN ORDINANCE GOVERIILNG SURFACE USE OF LONG LAKE" The Council of the City of New Brighton does hereby ordain as follows: Section 1`, Chapter L9 of the New Brighton City Code is hereby amended by adding thereto Article LII,_Long Lake Surface Use which shall read as follows: Sec. 19-30. Definitions. For the purposes of this Chapter, the following words and phrases-Shall have the meaning respectively ascribed to them: y~ake': Is any disturbance of the :water caused by a.motor- powered watercraft operating in excess'of closed throttle. No Wake`: Is the disturbance in the water, if any caused by. non-motorized watercraft or motorized watercraft operating at:c'losed throttle.. 'Sec..-,_19-31. No awake Zones. a, A no wake-zone is hereby established on the surface of..Long Lake to cover all waters within"100 feet of the shoreline except-as modified by authorzed`bouys. b. A rio wake zone is established over. the entire lake under 'the following conditions. 1. Seca. 19-33. _ No person shall operate a non-motorized watercraft,.:.except a sailboat, in the wake zone of the .lake when motor-powered watercraft producing a wake occupy the same half of he lake. Sec. 19-3~, No person shall operate.- a watercraft producing awake or towing a person on ;watersks,'aqua plane; surfboard,''<saucer or other:device'n a clockwise `drectian;.the:only permissable direction'-for such activities shall be to operate thA boat r. - a counter-clockwise direction. _ Sec, 19-35. Motorzed'Vehicles. - a. Speed limit. No person shall operate a motorizes vehicle on the'lake surface ice in a speed in excess of 20 miles,.per hour. b. Distance. No person -shall~pass>closer than 150 feet to a structure or a person whether the person is stationery or 'walking.
