PARK BOARD MINUTES <br />THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 1979 <br />I. The meeting was called to order at 8:30 p.m. by Acting <br />Chairperson Dahl. <br />II. Members present: Carlson, Dahl Grimshaw, Gunderman, <br />Hogan, Johnson, Kern, Westling, Council Rep, Blomquist. <br />Absent: Olson <br />III. The minutes of the December 6, 1978 and January 3, 1979 <br />meeting were approved as submitted. <br />IV. Correspondence - A. thank you note was received from <br />Julia Olson acknowledging the gift of flowers and a plant. <br />V. New Business <br />A. Dangerous Tree Ordinance - motion by Kern, Westling <br />second, to recommend approval of ordinance in proposed <br />form Motion passed. <br />B. Hansen Park Concept Plan - Staff presented a proposal <br />for redevelopment of portions of Hansen Park including <br />walkpaths, bridge to southeast portion of park, re- <br />shaping of parking areas, soccer field, softball <br />field and a picnic shelter. The. Board suggested that <br />the public be invited to comment on the plan at the <br />March 7th Park Board Meeting (7x00 p.m.) <br />C. Joint Powers Agreement - Ramsey Co. - Staff xev3.ev~ed <br />five budget options for maintenance and operation of <br />Long Lake Park. The Board stated a preference for <br />costs divided according to option V & VI. (See Attachment) <br />D. Gift - Basic Industries - The Board discussed various <br />options for use of the gift and requested that a <br />letter be sent to Basic Industries thanking them for <br />the gift and stating that a use had not yet been de- <br />termined. <br />VT. Unfinished Business <br />Lake Surface Use Ordinance <br />After considerable discussion among the Board and with <br />residents in attendance, the following ordnance was <br />recommended for presentation to residents at the March 7th <br />Park Board meeting at 8:30 p.m. Motion by Dahl, seconded <br />b Gunderman to approve revised version, Motion passed . <br />See attachment) <br />VII.
