PARK BOARD MINt~TES <br />U?EDNESDAY, JANUARY 3, 1979 <br />I. The meeting was ca fled to order by Chairperson Gunderman <br />at 730 p.m. <br />II. Members presento Carlson, Cook, Dahl, Grimshaw, Gunderman, <br />Johnson, Kern <br />Absent' Olson, Trdestling <br />Also present: Tom McMullen, Paul Donley, Mary Lynn Ditsch <br />ITI. Minutes of December 6, 1978 meeting - no action taken <br />IV. Correspondence:- none <br />V. New Business <br />Silver Oak School <br />Tom McMullen, Director of Community Education for the <br />St. Anthony-New Brighton School District.., briefed the <br />Board on the status of Silver Oak,, .School. He made the <br />following points; <br />-The school will be closed effective June, 1979- <br />-The School Board intends .to make a decision on future <br />use of the building by mid-May 1.979 and is considering <br />the following options: <br />1. Using the building as a community resource center. <br />2. Selling the building for commercial uses, unlikely <br />because of building design. <br />3. Mothball building with intention of re-using it <br />as a school in the future. <br />4. Raze the building and sell the property. <br />He also stated that he would keep the Board informed <br />and asked for recommendations on future users of the <br />building. <br />Surplus Property Inventory <br />The Board reviewed City owned park properties and took <br />the following action <br />-Motion by Dahl, seconded by Cook that the Council be <br />requested to order an appraisal on property x;`32 and <br />consider sale if property is marketable. Motion carried. <br />-Motion by Dahl, seconded by Gunderman that the Council <br />be requested to order an appraisal of the 1.2 acres of <br />Creekview Park near the intersection of Mississippi <br />and Silver Lake Road.
