'~ ~Pi+( ~R/~ <br />ORDIPdANCE NO. <br />AN ORDIDIANCE GOVERNING SURFACE <br />USE OF LONG.LAKE <br />4 - <br />The Council of the City of New Brighton does hereby ordain <br />;i as follows: <br />,; <br />Section 1. Chapter"19 of the Dlew Brighton City Code is <br />hereby amended by adding thereto Article III, Long Lake Surface <br />'' Use which shall read as follows: <br />Sec. 19-30. Definitions. ~ '. <br />For the purposes of this Chapter, the following words and. <br />phrases shall have the meaning respectively ascribed to them:. <br />Wake: Is any disturbance of the water caused by a motor-- <br />powered watercraft operating in excess of closed throttle ; ' <br />and in excess of 5 MPH. 1 <br />rdo Wake: Is the disturbance in the water, if any, caused <br />by non-motorized watercraft or motorized watercraft operating; <br />at closed throttle and less than 5 MPH. <br />I <br />Sec. 19-31. No Wake Zones. <br />i <br />a. A no wake zone is hereby established on the surface of <br />Long Lake to cover .all waters within 100 feet of the f <br />shoreline except as modified by authorized bouys. <br />b. A no wake zone is established over the entire lake when <br />the water elevation of the lake is 866 feet or more above` <br />mean-sea level. i <br />c. A no wake zone is established over the entire lake from <br />10:00 p.m. on Friday of each weekend through 7:00 a.m. <br />on Monday; except during the hours of 1:Q0 p.m. through <br />7:00 p.m. on each Saturday and 1;00 p.m. through 7:00 p.m. <br />on each Sunday. <br />d. A no wake zone is established over 'the entire lake on i ~ <br />all legal holidays commencing at 10:00. p.m. on the <br />evening preceding the observed holiday and terminating ~ <br />at 7:00 a.m. on the day following the observed holiday; <br />except that period of time between 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p. m. <br />on the. observed holiday. j <br />'Sec. 19-32. Prohibited Wake. <br />No person shall operate a motor-powered watercraft in the <br />ono wake zone in such a manner as will create a wake. <br />Sec. 19-33. Boat Launching. '. <br />No person shall launch. or beach a watercraft other than at <br />;designated areas or on private property with the .owner's permission.. <br />Sec. 19-34. <br />No .person shall operate a non-motorized watercraft, except <br />a sailboat, in the wake zone of the lake when motor-powered water-~~ <br />'craft producing a wake occupy. the same half as divided by the <br />c~har_n.c'l_ of the lake. <br /> <br />.. ,r. <br /> ~, <br />
