April 26, 1979 ~Rp~pj I i I .,. ORPFt ORDINANCE NO. ^ AN ORDINANCE GOVERNING SURFACE USE OF LONG LAKE The Council of the City of New Brighton does hereby ordain as follows: ~ ' I Section 1. Chapter 19 of the New Brighton City Code is hereby amended by adding thereto Article III, Long Lake Surface Use which shall read as follows:. f Sec. 19-30. Definitions. For the purposes of this Chapter, the following words and phrases shall have the meaning respectively ascribed to them: i Wake: Is any disturbance of the water caused by a motor-powered watercraft operating in excess of closed ~ ' throttle or in excess of 5 MPH. No Wake: -Is the disturbance in the water, if any, caused by non-motorized-watercraft or motorized watercraft operating at closed. throttle. ~ ~~ ` Watercraft: ~ i Motorized Vehicle: Sec. 19-31. No Wake Zones. I ! a. A no wake zone is hereby established on the sur- ' face of Long Lake to cover all waters within. 100 feet of the shoreline except. as modified by author- 4 ized bouys. E b. A no wake zone is established over the entire lake ~ I when the water elevation of the lake is 866. feet ! or more above mean sea level. c. A no wake zone is established over the entire lake from 10:00 p.m. on Friday of each weekend through 7:00 a.m. on Mondays except during the hours of ° 1:00 p.m. through 7:00 p.m. on each Saturday and ~ 1:00 p.m. through 7:00 p.m. on each. Sunday. r d. A no wake .zone is established. over the entire lake on all Legal holidays commencing at .10:00 p.m. on the evening preceding the observed holiday and terminating at 7:00 a.m. on the day following the observed holiday; except that period of time be- ' tween 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on the observed. holiday.. ~ Sec. 19-32. Prohibited Wake. ~ j ~. i No person shall operate a motor-powered watercraft in the no wake zone. in such a manner as will create a wake. ~ . Sec. 19-33. Boat Launching.
