ORDINI~NCE NO. <br />~ AN ORDINANCE GOVERNING SURFACE <br />USE OF .LONG LAhE <br />The Council of the. City of .New Brighton. does hereby ordain <br />as follows• <br />Section 1. Chapter 19 of the New Brighton City Code is, <br />hereby amended by adding thereto Article IIT, Long Lake Surface <br />Use_whch shall read as'follows: <br />Sec,'19-30, Definitions. <br />:For.the purposes of this Chapter,. the following words'ar~d <br />phrases sha11 have the meaning respectively,ascribed to them:> <br />Wake: Ls 'any disturbance` of _the water caused ,by a motor- <br />powered watercraft operating in excess.af closed throttle. <br />No.-Wake: Is the disturbance in the water, if any caused by <br />non-motorized watercraft `or motorized watercraft operating <br />at closed throttle. ;_ ; <br />Sec. 19-31. No Wake Zone .;. <br />a. A no wake zone is,.hereb.y established on .the surface <br />o'f Long Lake to cover all waters; within. 100 feet of <br />the shoreline except as modified by authorized bout's. <br />b. A no wake zone is-established over the-entire lake when <br />the .water elevation of the lake is 866 feet or more abov <br />-mean sea level. <br />c. A no wake zone is_establshed over the entire lake from <br />7:00 P.M. on Friday of each weekend through 7:00 A.M: <br />on Monday; except during the.-hours of 1:00 P.M. through: <br />7:00 P,M, on each Saturday anal 1:00 P,P~. through 7'x00 <br />P,M, on each_Sunday <br />d. P. no wake zone>is established over the entire lake on <br />all ?egal_ holidays commencing at 7:00 P.M. on the evenn <br />preceding the':observed-holiday and terminating at 7:00 <br />A.M. on .the day following-the 'observed holiday; except <br />that period of time between.l:00 P,M.: and 7:00 P.M. on <br />-.the observed holiday. <br />Sec. 19-32. Prohibited Wake. <br />IQo person shall operate a motor-powered watercraft Go as to <br />cause a wake in any of the no wake zones as set out herein above..> <br />Sec. 19-33.
