RCE Corp. - Park Donation = Sta:~P reviewed tYe'proposal:" <br />After considerable discussion the Board took the following <br />action <br />Motion by Kern, seconded by Johnson that the Board would <br />like to see the park land moved as close to 29th Ave. <br />as possible to remove .it ,from the pool and parking lot <br />and make the park rnore aecessibl,e to residents west of <br />29th and that a 15 ft .~ .ws,:kway be:.~rovided for access . <br />Motion carried. Gunderman ibay. Gunderman stated <br />,oppos-i,tiori.to the pr•op.osal because in his perspective <br />two acres would riot meet the needs-? pf -the-..ne_ghborhood <br />and. that he would prefer al,l~;options be explored toward <br />increasing the size to 5-7 acres. <br />Motion b~r.Kerri, seconded by Dahl that th~~.,,park area be <br />expanded to 5-7 acres because two acres wo~Id not accomo- <br />date traditional facilities such as bal: €elds, skating <br />rinks,'etc.. and that the possibility of trading existing <br />City land `for add'i~ional park land on the site be explored. <br />Motion carried. <br />Ray Perron variance request. Staff reviewed the request. <br />The Board took no action on the request. Motion by <br />Carlson, seconded by Kern requesting that investigation <br />be made into the possibility of purchase or land .trade <br />for both parcels lying immediately south of the park. <br />Motion carried. <br />(OVER} <br />
