PARK BOARD MINUTES <br />T. The meeting was called to order at 7°00 p.m. by Chair- <br />person Gunderman. <br />II. Members presento Carlson, Cook, Dahl, Grimshaw, Gunderman, <br />Johnson, Kern, Tr~estling, Council Rep. Blomquist. <br />III. Minutes of September, 1978 meeting were approved as <br />submitted. <br />IV. Correspondence - none <br />V. New Brighton Trails - Motion by Cook, seconded by Fern <br />'chat the Park Board accept responsibility for trails <br />planning in the City. Motion passed. The Board also <br />requested that t'ne Council and Staff take appropriate <br />action to improve bicsTcle paths on Long Lake Road when <br />it is upgraded. <br />Lawcon Grants - Staff informed the Board that Lawcon <br />grant applications for Hansen, Driftwood and Totem Pole <br />Parks had received a low ranking. <br />Program Service Levels - Staff informed the Board that <br />Council and Staff would be discussing levels of service <br />in various city departments. The Board expressed interest <br />in participating in those vahic~a affected parks and recreatie~n. <br />VI. Totem Pole. Staff explained the reasons for construction <br />.delays at Totem Pole Park. <br />Hidden Oaks hockey rink lighting - Staff informed the <br />Board that iolans for movinn~ ligat fixtures from Highview <br />to Hidden Oaks were still in effect. <br />Progress-Long Lake Planning -Staff informed the Board <br />that Ken Simons has begun work on the plan for the boat <br />ramp and that it will soon be ready for review by the <br />special committee. <br />VII.
