~5
environmental control structures involving our wildlife and our
fish life accessable to all - student and professor alike. Many of
us are deeply concerned that this movement towards the use of the
Hipp acreage slow its pace until much more of the philosophical and
the ecological worth can be built into the plan. I can really
believe tonight that we are all literate, intelligent and very
seriouw people. There's a need, however, for synthesis and inte-
gra~ion of our dreams for the betterment of all. I would hope ~~.a~
then that someone in a legal way would call for a delay action to
ensure against perpetration of human judgement and error. Let's
plan in ways to develop these natural areas to give our children
and grandchildren the experiences to prepare them for the future ~
in a way that in school we never can
Applause
JS Further comments or questions? The gentleman in the
center.
I'm Joe Kmetz, 197 Mississippi Street I wasn't going to say
anything this evening but I think Rose gave me strength too. I
read the Long Lake Concept Plan that was submitted by Maurie
Anderson, ah I attended the Long Lake Home Association 's meeting
and I listened to the remarks of the people this evening. I did
rec~.ive a survey questionnaire which I ~~~ answered and returned.
And the results have been compiled. I don't think they's~e been
paid attentionto. I'm not a politician, I never will be ah but I
do feel that the Park Board ie~-ae~~~.g irresponsibly.
has acted
...lakeshore residents who oppose a.ll forms of lake development, especially
additional y~boa.t traffic. That is incorrect, that is not true...every item
on the survey, no matter how far down you go for the most part , except maybe
archery is included in the Ilan. There ha.s been no consideration given to
this survey. -::-take-has-been-operating The lake a.s its been
operating for many years, long before I came to New Brighton , has not had
public access to the lake other than the boat launch that is currently there,
and we haven't had any problems, and the city attorney states a.h the property
of the right hand side there or the yellow grey area belongs to the New
Brighton citizen'?s. Well, it so happens that the property on the left hand
side also belongs to New Brighton citi~ems. And with that, that's all I've
got to say.
Applause.
JS Any further comments? Yes, .......
My name is Darryl Sensing, a.t 1861 15th Ave. in Windwaxd Terrace. T'm also
:President of the Long Lake Homeowner's Assoc. at this time, along with the
Assoc. and Chairman of the Environmental Council . I will
speak on behalf of Mr. Bob Erhard and his wife and I would like to introduce
their letter first of all. I believe the ~~~~~ Clerk has another copg~
JS: We have the letter.
DB Okay, a.m I supposed to read it or... I would like to have it in the
Minutes. Whether it needs to be read in its entirely or not it's up to you.
