16
JS I will direct it be received as an official document by the council.
GB I would like to add over and aboice what the letter states first of a.ll
let-mc convent about it, that ~yf~ these two people have been wa.tchikng the
$~~g I'll
lake which you might call caxing for the lake for quite some time. They are
in tune I think, with what it has been to them a very beautiful and a great
place to be. Es;ecially in Bally mornings, 1 a.te afternoons and of course
occasionally during the afternoon when the hills are covered with ~ beautiful
sunset a.nd ah the idea. of a. tranquility is there the hills. I think this
is available to more people who are not on the lake and a.h would encourage
poeple as-mach-aa-poasYble- to keep that area as much as possiblea wild life area
area-that so that those people who do not other wise live near the park,
could also enjoy it. Their letter does refer to the number of snowmobiles and
bikes,and motorcycles that are now traversing the area and tearing it up.
The fence thereby is a necessary ingredient o~hlch should be forbidden
~~' it
They also refer to the possibility that if a. tn~Zmper ofboats a.re let on the
lake , such as a formal, structured boat ramp,` e possible co nclusion is
that without due regard for the safety of people which can happen when
people do not know each other that then the poasttle recourse would be to
f ina.l
cut off all boats. That meaning then that a formal structure damp was never
necessary. So we would like to a-sk in that sense to go slow on any formal
structured ramp Policing would not only be necessary as we see it in the'
active or passive park not only on the park itself but also on the water
so that a number of boats aren't out there there may be a. need for further
policing. So at the time that this is made pubic and it becomes public
knowledge that this is available to them, it is very ,possible that the
~elleing-aopal~-sill-have this is
policing action will have to be addressed. I think that in a sense states
what the letter is about. If you care to Dorothy, Bob... Just one point
if I ma.y on behelf of the Concept pla-n itself, it refers to the lake as
being a, 2Z0 ~.cre fish lake I have no objections to the 'fish lake' but the
Rice Creek W ter Shed District semms to say that porion
its 184 acres. ~~ I'm not sure where the 'L'LO acres has come from.
JS Is that a question? Naybe we can get that answered. Maurie? Do you
know what the acreage is?
Yes
WE}~ ju~~t took it off of a an applicaaion clipped to the Federal Government
which is probably derived from a coupld of studies dog by the DNR which.......
and we probably took it out of then, I don;t know. It was from some source of
information.
JSs Okay, can we make a note Naurie, to check that please? Any other questions?
Ah would like to state on behalf then of the factor and maybe others that
possibly the entire Concept ~~~~ should be reviewed for its en~rironmental
~~~ct and thereby would ask that it be, excuse me, would ask that it be
essed to the environmental council if you will to preserve that entity, to
allow the environmental group to review ~}gsConeept a.ndwhatever else they
to submit
would a.t this time.
