PARK BOARD MINUTES <br />OCTOBER 5, 197? <br />I. The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. by Chairperson <br />Gunderman <br />II. Members present: Blomquist, Cook, Dahl, Grimshaw, Gunderman, <br />Kern, Olson <br />Members absent: Andreotti and TrTestling <br />III. Minutes of the September 8, 1977 meeting were approved as <br />submitted. <br />IV. Correspondence - A letter from Duane Sho.deen, Regional <br />Fisheries Supervisor from the DNR, was reviewed by staff <br />V. Long Lake Planning - Ken Simons reviewed his development <br />concept plan for Long Lake Regional Park (plan and dis- <br />cussion draft on file). Concern was expressed over <br />possible parking problems on Mississippi Street resulting <br />from pedestrian and bicycle access off Mississippi St. <br />The Board also requested that a pathway access from the <br />south be included in the concept plan. The Board also <br />expressed concern over the boat launch shown on the <br />present beach site and requested information from the <br />City Attorney regarding the various options available <br />to the City to regulate use of the water surface. <br />Bob Nethercut expressed general approval of the plan <br />and stated that he was impressed with the cooperation <br />shown by the City and the County. <br />Motion by Dahl, seconded by Kern that the November <br />meeting be devoted to a public presentation of the <br />concept plan.
