Members present: Andreotti, BlomgandtCv~ookl Repre- <br />Gunderman, Kern, Olson, Westling, <br />sentitive Senden. <br />Members absent: Smith <br />III. Minutes of June 1, 1977 meeting were corrected to <br />include the following: <br />Motion by A.ndreotti, seconded by Cook that the <br />Board reiterates its support for the Long Lake Park <br />access road location selected by Ramsey County. <br />Motion passed. <br />IV. A letter was received fxom Mrs. Gary Gregory ex- <br />pressing appreciation for the department's summer <br />program. <br />V. Long Lake Park - John Shardlow, landscape architecture <br />student from the University of Minnesota, presented to <br />the Board and interested residents a concept plan he <br />had prepared fox the site. <br />'~ Capital Improvement Plan - Motion by Dahl, seconded <br />by Olson to alter existing plan by advancing purchase <br />of playground equipment to 1978 and increase amount <br />to $ 20,000. Motion passed. <br />Motion by Cook, seconded by Blomquist to add to the <br />existing plan a picnic pavilion for Hansen Park in <br />the amount of $10,000. Motion passed. <br />Motion by Dahl, seconded by Olson to add sun shelters <br />for Freedom, Sunny Square, Totem Pole, Vermont, and <br />Hiddon Oaks Parks in 1978 in the amount of $10,000.00. <br />Motion passed. <br />Several suggestions were offered for consideration <br />for 1982 - renovation of Veterans Park, increased <br />facilities for adults, and additional lighting. <br />Comprehensive Plan - Motion by Andreotti, seconded <br />by Cook that the Board recommends approval of the <br />park and recreation portion of the plan in its <br />existing form. Motion passed. <br />
