PARK BOARD MINUTES <br />JUNE 1, 1977 <br />I. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Chairperson <br />Gunderman. <br />II. Members present: Andreotti, Blomquist, Dahl, Cook, <br />Gunderman and Council Representative Senders. <br />Members absent: Kern, Olson, Smith <br />Guest: Barton Brierley - Boy Scout <br />~ Special Order of Business: Staff reviewed concept plan <br />for residents of 5th Street park site area. No objections <br />to the plan were raised. <br />A name for the park was discussed, names offered included, <br />Forest, Reservoir, Terrace, Woodland, Driftwood, Innsbruk, <br />and Cottonwood. <br />Motion by Cook, seconded by Andreotti that the park be <br />named Cottonwood Park. T~Zotion by Blomquist, seconded <br />by Dahl that the motion be tabled. Motion passed, <br />Andreotti abstained. <br />III. Minutes of rf?ednesday, May ~-th meeting approved as <br />submitted. <br />IV. Motion by Andreotti, seconded by Cook, that the golf <br />course report by the City Manager be accepted and studied <br />for discussion at the July meeting. Motion passed. <br />Motion by Andreotti, seconded by Cook, that the Board <br />reiterates its support for-its action of May 4, 3.977 <br />"The Board supports the concept of a, publicly owned <br />golf course. The Board conditions its appxoval on <br />the stipulation that acquisition and operation of the <br />course will not have a negative impact on existing <br />operating and capital improvement budgets." i~iotion <br />passed. <br />V. Capital Improvement Plan - deferred to July meeting. <br />Park Use Ordinance - the Board requested copies of <br />ordinances for study. <br />VI. Staff requested Board input into the 1978 operating <br />budget and reviewed shade tree legislation and the <br />summer brochure. <br />VIII. Adjourned 9:05 PM. <br />x-0166 6/77 <br />
