i • <br />PARK BOARD MINUTES <br />April 6, 1977 <br />I. Park Board meeting was called to order by Chairperson Gunderman <br />at 8x00 p.m. <br />II. Board members presents Andreotti, Blomquist, Cook, Dahi, <br />Gunderman, Kern, Olson, U~estling and Council Representative <br />Senden. <br />Board members absento Smith. <br />New members Andreotti, Blomquist and Olson were introduced and <br />welcomed to the Board. <br />III. Minutes of the March 2, 1977 meeting were approved as submitted. <br />IV. Correspondance - None. <br />V. Unfinished Businesso <br />Long Lake Planning - Staff reviewed history of the site and <br />progress of current planning efforts for the new Board members. <br />Staff indicated that substantial interest had been expressed via <br />the questionnaire in serving on a, planning task force and asked <br />if the Board was interested in creating a task force to aid in <br />development of plans for the park. <br />Motion by Dahl, seconded by Cook that the Board did not see an <br />immediate. need for such a group but would consider its creation, <br />if needed in the future. Motion carries. <br />Brightwood Hills Golf Course - Staff informed the Board of <br />study efforts being undertaken by City staff. The Board requested <br />information regarding possible state aid loss and impact on Metro <br />Council's Developmental Framework Policy, if the land is retained <br />as a golf course, as opposed to residential development. <br />VT. New Business: <br />Long Lake Park Access Road - Staff reviewed the request by <br />Ramsey County Open Space Department to construct a park entrance <br />off Old Highway 8 across from Paron Motors. <br />Motion by Cook, seconded by Andreotti that the County's request <br />be recommended for approval. Motion carries. <br />
