Park Board_meeting was called to order at.8:03 p.m. by Chairperson: <br />Gunderman <br />II .` Board members present: Cook, Dahl, Gunderman, Kern and West~,irg. <br />Board members absent: Smith. <br />SIL. Minutes of February 9, 197? meeting were approved as submitted. <br />IV. Correspondance - None. <br />V. , Unf3.~shed Business' <br />Long Lake Park Planning -Chairperson Gunderman noted that he had <br />received several questions from Councilmen regarding a timetable <br />for Long .'Lake Planning. It was further noted that the Park Board <br />had devised a schedule at its January 1977 meeting but that the <br />Board would be willing to devise a more definitive schedule, as _ <br />it~was needed. Staff reported that the proposed Joint Powers <br />Agreement with Ramsey County might.. help clarify the issue. <br />Staff reviewed a xough draft of an informational brochure and <br />questionnaire to be sent to all city residents. This brochure. <br />would be designed to stimulate interest in the planning process <br />and to announce a series of neighborhood meetings on planning the <br />park., <br />Street Vacation - Staff reviewed past efforts to have the street <br />vacated and discussed the potential implications to the park. <br />Motion by Dahl, seconded by Kern that the vacation be recommended <br />'for deniai•based on the feeling of the Board that it was not in <br />the best interest of the park system. Motion carried. <br />Brightwood Hills Golf Course A~delegation of axea homeowners <br />presented the Board with oral information regarding potential <br />funding possibilities for purchase and operation of the course. <br />The Board informed the group that they remained supportive. of the <br />concept of City ownership of the course but would take no action <br />until requested by the Council. <br />VI. New Business <br />Park Land-Purchase (Rush Lake area) by Ramsey County - Staff <br />reviewed the proposed acquisition. Motion by Kern, seconded by <br />Dahl that the Board recommends approval of the purchase.. Motion <br />carried. <br />
