PARK .BOARD MINUTES. <br />February 9, 1977 <br />I. Park Board meeting was called to order by Chairperson Gunderman <br />at 8:00 p.m. <br />II. .Board members present: Cook, Dahl, Gunderman, Smith, Westling <br />and Councilman Senden. <br />Board members absents None. <br />Others present: George Carlson and Joanne Dandanell, League of <br />Women Voters Representative. <br />III. Minutes from January 10, 1.977 meeting were approved as submitted. <br />IV. Correspondance - None. <br />V. Long Lake Planning <br />Methods of obtaining input from citizens into the planning process <br />were discussed. The Board decided to host neighborhood meetings <br />at each of the neighborhood park shelters. In addition, it was <br />suggested that a brochure describing the Long Lake project should <br />be prepared and distributed city-wide. <br />Suggestions were made regarding facilities at the park including <br />100-meter swimming dock, ski hill and swimming beach (located <br />well away from the channel). <br />The Board requested cost of various facilities from the staff. <br />Staff reported that Ramsey County Open Space staff had expressed <br />a strong desire to work with New Brighton in order to plan the <br />Rush Lake/Long Lake areas as one unit. <br />VT. Street Vacation - Richard Neumann <br />Tabled until March meeting. <br />Brightwood Hills Golf Course <br />The matter was discussed and requested to be placed on the March <br />agenda. <br />VII. Announcements <br />Marty Sullivan's resignation from the Park Board was announced. <br />VIII. Meeting was adjourned at 10x10 p,m. <br />Respectfully submitted by Maurice H.
