. <br />PARK BOARD MINUTES <br />Wednesday, November 3, 1976 <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:30 p.m. by Chairperson Gunderman. <br />Park Board members present: Cook, Dahl, Gunderman, Smith, Sullivan <br />and Council Representative Senden. <br />Park Board members absent: Kern and Weissman. <br />The minutes of the October 6, 1976 meeting were approved as submitted. <br />The purpose of the meeting was to gather input from area residents <br />regarding development plans for the 5th Street park site. The following <br />persons were in attendance: Joanne Dandanell, Mary Steinbach, Dee <br />Weaver, Tad & Diane Gates, Ray Anderson, Laurie Peterson, George & Ruby <br />Oberg, W. A. Plice, W. A. Goalslee, War~tHolm, Curtis Johnson, Greg <br />Nelson, Meriam Lundin, Barb Jacobson, Peterson, Wesley Olson, <br />T. Campbell, Fred Hoefer, Larry Holmberg, Dennis Hill, Jim Petersen, <br />Ron Johnson, Bill Mc Lure, L. Wozniak. <br />The following concerns were expressed: <br />- The park should retain natural areas, with trails included. <br />- 2s there a need for a park in this neighborhood? <br />- There should be efforts made to retain natural areas with <br />walkways. <br />- Passive activities should be emphasized in the park. <br />- There should be some definition of the boundary between the <br />church and the paxk. <br />- The center of the park is the best portion for active use. <br />- Buildings and parking should be located toward the west end of <br />the park. <br />- The grassland should be left in its present state. <br />- Would like to have recreational skating area included. <br />Announcement: The next Park Board Meeting is scheduled for MONDAY, <br />NOVEMBER 29TH at 8:00 P.M. in the New Brighton City Hall Council Chambers. <br />Meeting adjourned at 10:05 p.m. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Maurice H.
