PARK BOARD MINUTES <br />October 6, 1976 <br />I. The meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m. by Chairperson <br />Gunderman. <br />TI. Park Board members present: Cook, Dahl, Gunderman, Kern, <br />Sullivan and Council Representative Senden. <br />Board members absent: Smith and Weissman. <br />III. The minutes of the September 1, 1976 meeting were approved as <br />submitted. <br />IV. There was no correspondance. <br />V. Silver Oak Development <br />Development at Silver Oak was discussed, the Park and Recreation <br />Director announced that he is meeting with the St. Anthony School <br />Board in October to discuss potential funding for the project. <br />Dale Seppa, Mike Pisanski and Jim Bullock were in attendance <br />and reported on the activities of their committee. <br />VI. New Business <br />The Park and Recreation Director informed the Board that dis- <br />cussions were being held with Highview Jr. High and the L.R.H.A. <br />about the possibility of closing the hockey rink at Highview <br />due to its poor condition. <br />Gunderman suggested that the Community Education Department <br />also be included in the discussion. <br />5th Street Park Planning - The Board requested that a meeting <br />be set up early in 1Vovember to discuss plans with neighborhood <br />residents. Salem Covenant and United Theological Seminary were <br />discussed as possible meeting sites. <br />VII. Announcements <br />The dates for the Silver Oak P.T.A. Open House and M.R.P.A. <br />Conference were offered as reminders to the Board. <br />VIII. Meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m. Respectfully submitted by <br />Maurice H.
