The meeting was called to order by Actin; Chairperson J~ahl at 8:00 p.m. Park Board members present: Cook, Dahl, Gunderman, Kern, Smith, Sullivan, Weissman and Council Representative Senden. Minutes of the July 7, 1976 meeting were approved as submitted. Correspondance: From the New Brighton Sportsmen's Club offering to purchase equipment for the park system. Unfinished Business: Capital Improvements Plan Staff reviewed the timetable. for the submission of the Capital Improvements Plan. Council Representative Senden explained to the Board that the Board should carefully examine the guide- lines for prioritization of Capital Improvement projects. He further stated that the Board had the greatest opportunity for input into the plan by making recommendations regarding the guidelines. The Board recommended the following adjustments in the current plan: Aesthetics - No recommendations. Special-Use Facilities - Motion by Kern, seconded by Dahl to inclu e , 'or ballfield renovation at Totem Pole Park in 1977. Motion carries. Motion by Dahl, seconded by Smith to include $3,000.00 for renovation of free-skating area at Totem Pole Park in 1977. Motion carries. Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Smith to include $30,000.00 for tennis courts at Totem Pole Park in 1978. Motion carries. Motion by Dahl, seconded by Cook to expand $7,~j00.00 in 1977 to purchase additional playground equipment at Hansen, Totem F~~e, Sunny Square, Freedom and Veterans Parks. Motion carries. Motion by Smith, seconded by Weissman to place lighted athletic field in 1978 and increase amount to $80,000.00, with no site designation. Motion carries. New Business: Hidden Oaks Park Staff presented to the Board drawings of proposed improvements to the easterly portion of Hidden Oaks Park. The Board suggested that a meeting be held with residents of the area to s ~~ek input .
