PARK BOARD MINUTES <br />May 5, 1976 <br />I. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Gunderman at <br />8:0o p.m. <br />II. Board members present: Cook, Dahl, Gunderman, Kern, Smith, <br />Sullivan, Weissman and Council Representative Senden. <br />III. Minutes of April 7, 1976 meeting were approved as submitted. <br />IV. Correspondance: <br />Ted Kern read a letter he had received from Senator Ashbach <br />stating that the Vermont Park grant money might be released <br />in June. <br />V. Unfinished Business: <br />29th Avenue Street Vacation - Smith reviewed past actions by <br />the Planning Commission, Park Board and the City Council. <br />Bob Johnson, 1680 29th Avenue N.W., stated that it was important <br />to have a well developed rationale for closing prior to presenta- <br />tion to the City Council. Cook stated that most development <br />previously proposed would not require closing of the street. <br />Mr. Johnson said his major concern was for the sake of child <br />safety. <br />The Board requested that the staff draw alternative: plans for <br />the two parcels east side of 29th to aid the Board in making its <br />recommendation regarding the street vacation. Mr. Johnson <br />requested citizen input into the plans. <br />Council/Board Work Session - The Board adopted the following <br />agenda and suggested May 26th or June 2nd as possible meeting <br />dates. <br />I.
