.l?:!ARK BOARD MINUTES <br />March 3, 1976 <br />I. I~7eeting was called co order at x-00 p.m. by Chairperson Gunderman. <br />II. Board members absent:. Cook ^nd Srnith. <br />III. Minutes of February 4, 1976 meeting were approved as submitted. <br />IV. Jaycees - Horseshoe Courts <br />The Jaycees' request to construct :~. sec of horseshoe courts was <br />considered. The Board. indicated approval of the .proposal. <br />M.R.P.A. - Board and Commissions G~~orkshop <br />Announcement was made of the I~iarch 11th ?°?orkshon . Marv Cook, <br />Don t.7eissman and Marty Sullivan expressed an interest in attending. <br />Councilman Paul Hardt <br />Councilman Hardt commended the Park Board for its diligence over <br />the Nears and indicated his interest developing a good working <br />relationship bettaeen the Board and the Council. <br />V. 2~th Avenue Park Site <br />Residents from the area were present and were polled regarding <br />their preference of a name for the park. Ifter extensive dis- <br />cussion of over twenty names, the name ''hidden Oaks" was selected. <br />Motion by Dahl, seconded by Sullivan that the Board recommend the <br />name °iHidden Oaks" to the City Council for their approval. T'lotion <br />passed. <br />Staff reviewed building plans with the group; general approval <br />wa.s indicated. <br />Playgrot?nd equipmenti; selection was discussed tilith a preference <br />for wood structures being expressed. Concern was expressed chat <br />the equipment be located in an area that will be convenient and <br />safe for young children. At the request of the neighborhood group <br />present, 'the Board stated •thac its intention was that the Park was <br />designed p~°imarily for neighborhood use and that any change in <br />that emphasis would be presented co the neighborhood iorior %o a <br />decision being made. <br />VI. Silver Oak Development <br />S%aff updated the Board and interested. residents on negotiations <br />with S't. Anthony School District 232 regarding use of 'the school <br />site as a neighborhood Dark. ~underman expressed concern that the <br />
