PARK BOARD MINUTES <br />January 7, X976 <br />Meeting was called to order at 8000 a.m. by Vice-Chairperson l~~eissman. <br />Board members present; Cook, Dahl, Gunderman (late arrival) and <br />T~Teissman. <br />Board members absents Jasinski, Smith and Sullivan. <br />Minutes of November 5, ~g75 meeting were submitted and approved. <br />Corres_pondance was received from the Moundsview Jr. Football Associa- <br />tion expressing appreciation for work on football fields. <br />Policy for Naming Parks - Staff informed the Board that although the <br />City Council had not acted to include the policy in the Administrative <br />Code, the E~ard could use the policy as its own. <br />1.976 - ~g8o Capital Improvement Plan - Staff reviewed the draft <br />proposal of the plan, observing that the major thrust of the plan was <br />to provide neighborhood Darks in those areas currently not served. <br />Vermont and 2gth Avenue Building Plans - A preliminary sketch and <br />building floor p7_an v~ras presented to the Board. T'ne Board expressed <br />approval and set the February nth Park Board meeting as the date for <br />i:'ina.l neighborhood input into the park development plan. <br />Metro Council 5-Year Capital Improvement Program for Re~,ional Recreation <br />Open Space - The Board v~ras informed that Metro Council ~!as requesting <br />state funds in excess of $500,000.00 for Long Lake Park. <br />A'I.P,.P.A~ Conference - Staff reported that the Annual Conference <br />held in Rochester seas an unqualified success . <br />Golf Course Status - The Board was informed that legislation <br />authorizing Ramsey County to ourchase Brightc~Tood Hills Golf Course <br />~,+?as still in committee and its future ~7as uncertain. <br />i-4eeting adjourned at 0° ~ 5 p.m. <br />Res,gectfully submitted, <br />Maurice `~.
