r r. <br />PARK BOARD MINUTES <br />September 3, 3975 <br />I. Meeting-was called to order by Chairperson Gunderman at 8:00 p.m. <br />II. Roll call, Present: Cook, Dahl, Gunderman, Sraith, Sullivan <br />and Weissman. Absent: Jasinski. <br />III. Minutes were approved as submitted from August 6, 1975 meeting. <br />IV. Letter from Irondale High School requesting use of a hockey <br />rink for practice was read. The Board suggested that an <br />attempt to provide the use with the following conditions. <br />a. The School District would provide adequate supervision.~~~ <br />b. No Friday use would be allowed.-~ <br />c. The ice surface would be cleaned after each use, <br />~ ,.~/ ~ <br />V. Polic for Naming ~- 'Ihe following policy was submitted <br />for discussion and will be acted upon at the October meeting. <br />Neighborhood Parks <br />a. Names should be selected early in the planning process, <br />with input at the time of neighborhood meetings. <br />b. Names wou ld be preferably descriptive of the location and <br />should be meaningful to those who will be using them. <br />c. Neighborhood parks should not be named after a person. <br />Community or. Special Use Parks <br />a. Parks should be named early in the planning process. <br />b. Could be named after or include in name some geographic <br />characteristics. <br />c. Could be named after a person only if a significant <br />dedication has been shown by this person toward parks <br />and recreation. <br />d. Park names would be submitted by the Park Board to the <br />City Council for approval. <br />VI. Summer Report - Deferred to October meeting. <br />
