<br />(2) <br />Rice Creek Clean-Up <br />• <br />Department informed the Board that Ramsey County Manpower, pr-ogram; throvg_Y.. <br />Comprehensive Employment Training Act (CETA), had allocated 20 youths <br />and one supervisor for the project of cleaning up Rice Creek. The <br />project is in cooperation with the cities of New Brighton, Shoreview, <br />Arden Hills and Moundsview. <br />Capital Improvements <br />The Board was brought up-to-date on adjustments made by the City Council <br />at the Capital Improvements Hearing; transferring of $20,000 in .funds <br />from the Park Planting Study. $7.0,000 was allocated to be spent on <br />interim development on the 5th Street park site (Salem Covenant} and <br />$10,000 for ILong Lake Park Planning. Both. projects are to be completed <br />in 1-977. <br />The Board was informed that plans were being formulated for the Five- <br />Year update to be completed by approximately July lst and that the <br />item would appear on the May agenda. <br />Park Board was requested to give an opinion as to whether or not the <br />City should retain for park use two lots on the southeast corner of the <br />intersection of 29th Avenue and 15th Street for tennis courts. Dahl <br />moved and Cook. seconded that the City Council retain those lots for <br />tennis courts and that tennis courts should be included in the updated <br />Five-Year Capital Improvements Plan.
