~ ~ <br />(3) <br />Teen Programming - The Department informed the Board that neither <br />the Police Department or the Community Education Department offers teens <br />any special programming, nor do they have any current plans for such. <br />It was stated that the School District offers enough programs presently <br />for teens, if they. desire to take part in them. <br />Silver Oak Tennis Courts - Sullivan gave the Board a progress report <br />concerning the Silver Oak tennis courts, Two meetings have been held <br />in which the site was examined and several possibilities suggested. <br />The approximate cost is $2,000 plus. $6,000 fir lights with a three-way <br />split for payment> St, Anthony Village, St. Anthony School District <br />and the City of New Brighton. Gunderman cited that perhaps this will <br />seta precedent if we were to start building on school 'property. The <br />Board accepted the report. <br />M . R . P . A . C ommis s ions j~.'orksho~p - The Board was infe~°me d by the Depart= <br />ment of the M.R.P.A.. Board and Commissions Section meeting held on <br />Thursday, January 16 at the University of Minnesota on issues relating <br />to 1975 legislative concerns. <br />City of Fridley - Nature C~~ter - Staff explained to the Board of <br />Fridley's request far input on their questionnaire on the nature center <br />and also a representative to assist them further on the development <br />plans. City Council requested that the Park Board complete the question- <br />naire. Smith questioned why the City of New Brighton must get involved. <br />Board was informed that Fridley is asking for input from neighboring <br />communities into the- design of-the nature center. Staff was asked to <br />complete the questionnaire and return it to the City of Fridley. <br />Department Report - No report. --~ <br />Medalist 7'ce Skating Presentation - Smith in~`ormed Board of slide <br />presentation put on by the Medalist Ice Skating Company. Smith <br />explained that they are professionals who build, finance, and design <br />ice arenas and those interested should attend.
