Corlett, Acting Director
RE: Tennis Facilities in Apache Hills Area
Regarding the concept of tennis facilities in the Apache Hills
area, I have looked into Jerry Smith's proposal and found that
it is possible to do such a project at a considerable expense
for sub-surface material and fill for the pond area.
On Tuesday, November 12th I had a conversation with Barry
Johnson, the Building and Planning Coordinator, about the
area and he suggested looking into the Faye property where
the original water tower was to be located. Yours and my
conversation indicated that the City's intent was to sell this
property in order to offset expenses for the new water tower
site.
At this point, I would like to suggest that the City examine
this site for tennis facilities as an alternative to the sale
of the property. It may very well be wise to absorb the costs
of the new tower site and examine the installation of the tennis
facilities at the Faye property, as I suspect the costs of
installation on the 'tax forfeiture property on Foss Road may run
higher than following this route.
If you have any further questions relating to this matter, please
contact me at your convenience.

Charles H.
