• 1 ( I Ramsey County Open Space Update The Board was inf ormed of the status of the Long Lake/Rush Lake/Rice Creek property in the Ramsey County Open Space System. The property is presently listed No, 3 in the top priority with No.'s '_ and 2 already being funded and plac~sthe Long Lake/Rush Lake/Rice Creek property in an advantageious position. The Board was made aware of the public hearing concerning priority of Ramsey County Open Space Program on September 16, 197 at 7:34 p.m. in the Sc. Paul City Hall (third floor - City Council Chambers) and urged to attend. The subject of the Brightwood Hills Golf Course being acquired through Ramsey County Open Space was discussed. The Board was informed that the resolution has been sent to Ramsey County Commissioners and will be a part of the upcoming public hearings. The Board was requested to urge all interested residents to attend the public hearings. HUD Smith felt that the Board should look into possible funds available through HUD. Through further discussion, the Board was inf ormed that the City Council was establishing a Housing and Redevelopment Authorityr. Smith requested that the Council consider placing a Park Board member on the New Brighton Housing Redevelopment Authority. Department Report 1) The Board received the results of the city-wide survey conducted by the Department. The results were discussed and will be placed on the October agenda for further interpretation. 2) Information was given to the Board regarding the advertisement -for the position of Director of Parks and Recreation9 which is currently listed in the League of. Municipalities and M.R.P.A. membership mailings. -. 3) The Board was informed of the Department's reorganization of Dutch Elm and Oak ~G?ilt Disease Gontrol Program.
