He indicated that i~ was his
feeling that an air-bubble structure ©ver an artifical ice surface
might be more likely to succeed in New Brighton. This facility is
cheaper to construct, does not involve anything outside of the ice
sheet itself, it cannot support ice year-around but could be used for
tennis in the summer.
Tt was noted that the feasibility study would also provide insurance
to the Village that the arena could be profitable. Other details
brought out in the discussion included,
~.. The Village must donate the land for construction of the
facility.
2. The sale of the "B" bonds is the responsibility of the non-
profit corporation.
3. A joint-powers agreement between several comrnunitites could
be developed.
~4. A feasibility study could be expanded to include other facilities
such as a swimming pool.
Dahl moved that a firm proposal for a feasibility study be submitted
by Recreation Systems Incorporated. Seconded by ti~Teissman. Motion
carried.
The chairman suggested that a special meeting be held on July 11th
to consider the proposal, if it is available by that time.
Meeting was adjourned at 1005 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Robert M.
