<br />and that an attempt be made to place a Park Board member from l~Tew Brighton <br />on the Ramsey County Park Advisory Board which will be established in <br />conjunction with the plan. <br />LAKE REGION HOCKEY ASSOCIATION RECOMMEP]DATIONS <br />The Board discussed the improvements recommended by the Lake Region Hockey <br />Association for hockey facilities within the park system. The discussion <br />on extending the ntunber of rinks was deferred to the special meeting of <br />Sune 9th as the areas described. as needing hockey facilities are the same <br />as some of the proposed park acquisition sites. <br />The second recommendation involved upgrading the lighting on several village <br />parks. <br />Smith moved that estimates be obtained on the cost of adding more lights <br />at Sunny Square, Freedom, Totem Pole and Veteran's Park. taeissman seconded. <br />Motion Carried. <br />TEEPd CEI~ITER <br />Gunderman asked about the proposals that have been submitted for provision <br />of a drop-in teen center. <br />It was explained that a group of Village residents was requesting that the <br />Village provide a facility which would be operated by volunteers for teens. <br />The Park and Recreation Department has had meetings with both adults and <br />teens from this group. The outcome of these meetings was that Department <br />operation of such a facility would be regulated in a manner unsatisfactory <br />to the teens. However, the Department would attempt to provide some <br />programs for this age group. <br />CHANGE OF MEETING TIME <br />As a result of summer activities the Park Board will begin ,its regular <br />meetings at 8:45 P.M. during the summer. <br />Meeting adjourned 20:19 P.M. <br />Submitted by: <br />Robert M.
