PARK BOARD MEETING <br />. ~: November 12, 1969 <br />The meeting was called to order at $:10 p.m. <br />Presents Hagemeyer, Morris, Weissman,Dahl <br />Also Present: Mrs. Neuman, Louise England, D. H. Barnhill <br />The minutes of the October $, 1969 meeting were approved. <br />~::SCUSSION ON PROPERTX OF ERIN COURT. <br />;discussion to the effect of keeping things as they are, with the <br />~•'~illage putting. in the road. Motion by Weissman, seconded by <br />~~gemeyer that the part of the land north of Erin Court is considered <br />:;art of the total park land, and should be kept as park land, along <br />:pith the area south of Erin Court. <br />Ga rr led <br />SSZATING 5CHEDULE <br />~•ir. Barnhill, Lake Region Hockey Association, was present to <br />discuss hockey schedules. The Board considered Mr. Barnhill's <br />request (dated April 8, 1969}, Mr. Harmon's letter from Mounds View <br />Recreation Department, and the proposed schedule submitted by <br />Dick Hansen. The schedules agreed upon are in the form of two <br />motionse Motion by Hagemeyer, seconded by Dahl, to give Lake Region <br />Hockey the hours from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and <br />9:30 a,m. - 12:00 noon and 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays. <br />Mr. Barnhill seemed agreeable to this, but will check <br />it with the Board on Tuesday. Carried <br />Motion by Dahl, seconded by Weissman that the request of Mr. Harmon <br />be approved (hockey rinks 11:00 - 12:00 noon Saturdays; Free skating <br />as outlined in Mr. Harmons letter of October 31, 1969). <br />Carried <br />The Park Board reciuested Village Manager, Mr. Schaefer, to write to <br />Mr. Harmon confirming his request. Also to make note that <br />Mr. Barnhill would like to be notified when hockey topics are to be <br />discussed at Park Board meetings. Also a Park Board request to <br />Mr. Schaefer that skating rules be posted and the schedules posted <br />when they are final. <br />RAMSEY COUNTY LEAGUE OF MUNICIPALITIES <br />The Park Board would like to be kept informed on activities relating <br />to the construction of ice arenas. If possible, please Iet park <br />board members know in advance when meetings on this subject will be <br />held. Can answers be found to several questions? What property <br />will these arenas be constructed on? Is the $3,000,000 figure a <br />one-time thing, or can this be repeated? 'What will the profits of <br />the ice arenas be used for? <br />LEGION FIELD <br />General discussion of the plans submitted by Brauer & Associates. <br />Motion by Hagemeyer, seconded by Dahl to resubmit plans to Brauer <br />and Associates to move play area north 50-60 feet, and expand the <br />parking area to double its size, and have Brauer bring plans to <br />
