Page 2
Mr. Daniels repl-led to a question regarding the number of proposed
barrels. Three were installed at the south end of the beach on Wednesday,
and an additional t2 are planned to be installed as soon as the ice permits
delivery by trucks. If these are not sufficient, the Club will attempt to
provide more and would certainly welcome any resident participation to assist
in the purchase of barrels..
Mr. Finley requested passing of an ordinance regulating +trash around ice
houses. He stated that the Village Attorney should deliver an opinion to the
Council as to the legal righ#s of the Village regarding its authority to
regulate lake activities through legal ordinance.
Motion by Morris, seconded by Hagemeyer that the Park board reca+xnend that the
proposal submitted by the Sportsmens Club be received by the Village Council
as phase one of an attempted solution to the lake problem. The motion is
contingent upon the Manager's receiving the proposal pt the Sportsmens Ciub
in writing.
Ali Ayes -Carried.
The matter of ordinancing would be a second phase project. Before the second
phase may be implemented, a Legal opinion from the Village Attorney, as to the
status of Village authority to ordinance lake activity would be necessary.
it is necessary in that should the Village possess authority, legal
ordinance is possible. Should the Village not have authority, then phase
two may only be resolved at a higher governmental level.
Meeting adjourned at 9:36 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
Robert W. Schaefer
