r <br />`{ <br />w <br />RESnLU'"ION PdO. 2585 <br />STATE OF P!IINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON. <br />RESOLUTION APPROVI?TG THE MASTER PLAN ArTD JOINT PORTERS AGREEMENT <br />FOR THE DEVELOPAIET~TT AND OPERATION OF LONG LAKE/RUSH LAKE REC,IONAL <br />PARK <br />G4HEREAS the City h~.s acquired 109 acres of land in 1970 <br />for park purposes, and <br />WHEREAS this land has been designated as a regional park; andl, <br />• <br />WHEREAS the residents of New Brighton have expressed a desire <br />to utilize this land for recreational purposes.; and <br />WHEREAS the City of New Brighton. wishes to provide its <br />citizens with ruality services in an economical manner;. and <br />WHEREAS the Metropolitan Council has designated funds for <br />development of this site; and <br />WHEREAS the City of New Brighton and. Ramsey County have <br />agreed in previous Joint Dowers Agreements to jointly plan and <br />operate this park; - <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of New <br />Brighton does hereby approve the master plan far development of ~, <br />Long Lake Regional Park and the attached Joint Powers Agreement <br />for operation and maintenance of Long Lake Park with the following <br />stipulations: <br />1) That parking for large group picnic area be reduced <br />to accommodate 100 cars. <br />2) That parking for the small group picnic area be reduced <br />to accommodate 50 cars. <br />3) That parking at the boat launch area be reduced to <br />accommodate 15 vehicles caith trailers; 5 for high <br />speed boats and 10 for fishing boats or sail boats <br />with development delayed until 1983 as requested by <br />the New Brighton Historical Society. <br />4) That 1982 development capital improvement program <br />be revised to reflect expenditures as stated in <br />staff memo-dated March 11, 1982: <br />i <br />$86,000 Trails - Long Lake segment only <br />200,000 Access Road - Old 8 to beach <br />36,000 Fencing <br />.63,000 Picnic S.G. - gravel parking, site development,. <br />shelter <br />25,000 Reforestation - picnic and beach area <br />33,000 Nature Study - site development, trails, gravel <br />parking <br />10,000 Fishing docks <br />210,000 Beach - bathhouse (no utilities}, gravel parking <br />5) That a`7 of. the Joint Powers Agreement be reworded as <br />follows: <br />This agreement shall terminate on December 31, 2000, <br />unless the agreement is revised or terminated upon <br />terrus mutually agreeable to the parties.
