JOINT POWEi~'', AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br />THE CITIES OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />AND MOUNDS VIEW <br />PURPOSE <br />WHEREAS, there exists a common leisure programming need to provide <br />cultural experiences for the residents in the Cities of New Brighton <br />and Mounds View; and <br />W~IEP.EAS, the City of Mounds View currently is operating a successful <br />summer traveling puppet/theatre program; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of New Brighton and the City of Mounds View, through <br />their respective governing bodies, believe there is a need to establish <br />a joint summer traveling; puppet/theatre program; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, it is agreed between the Parties as <br />follows: <br />EMPLOYING MUNICIPALITY <br />The City of Mounds View hereby agrees to be the employing municipality <br />for the joint summer traveling puppet/theatre program. The City of <br />Mounds View shall be accountable for the receipt of that portion of <br />puppet/theatre program expenditures (approximately 50%) paid by the <br />City of New Brighton. All existing and future capital expenditures <br />and/or ecguipment shall be owned by the City of Mounds View and no <br />mutual property shall be acquired as a result of this agreement. <br />SUMMER PUPPET/THEATRE PROPGRAM STAFF RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITY <br />The exact puppet/theatre program staffs duties will be fully defined in <br />a separate job description and task statement is attached as Addendum A. <br />The puppet/theatre program staff shall be responsible to the Program <br />Supervisor in the City of Mounds View. <br />TIME ALLOCATION <br />The puppet/theatre program will perform for a ten (10) week program, <br />performing 24 shows each week. The City of Mounds View will have 12 <br />shows performed weekly and the City of New Brighton shall have 12 <br />shows performed weekly. The shows will last approximately 45 minutes <br />including neighborhood touring promotion, set-up, show, and departure. <br />The actual program dates, schedules, and locations will be agreed upon <br />by resolution no later than April 1 of each respective year. <br />
