PROPOSED RESOLUTION <br />WHEREAS the City has. acquired 1.09 acres of land in <br />1970 for park purposes and <br />WHEREAS this land has been designated as a regional. <br />park and <br />WHEREAS the residents of New Brighton have expressed <br />a desire to utilize this land for recreational purposes and <br />WHEREAS the City of New Brighton wishes to provide <br />its. citizens with. quality services in an economical manner <br />and <br />WHEREAS the Metropolitan Council has designated funds <br />for development of this-sit and <br />WHEREAS the City of New Brighton and Ramsey County have <br />agreed in previous Joint Powers Agreements to jointly plan <br />and operate this park <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of <br />New Brighton does hereby approve the master plan for de- <br />velopement of Long Lake Regional Park and the attached <br />Joint Powers Agreement for operation and maintenance of <br />Long Lake park with the following stipulations: <br />1. That parking for large group picnic area be <br />reduced to accommodate 100 cars. <br />2. That. parking for the small group picnic area <br />be reduced to accommodate 50 cars. <br />3. That parking at the boat launch area be re- <br />duced to accommodate 15 vehicles with trailers; <br />5 for high speed boats and l0 for fishing boats <br />or sail-boats with development delayed until <br />1983 as requested by the New Brighton Historical <br />Society. <br />4. That 1982 development capital improvement program <br />be revised to reflect expenditures as stated in <br />staff memo dated March 11, 1982: <br />$ 86,000 Trails - Long Lake segment only <br />200,000 Access Road - Old 8 to beach <br />36,000. Fencing <br />63,000 .Picnic S.G. - gravel parking, <br /> site development, shelter <br />25,000 Reforestation - picnic and beach area <br />33,000 Nature Study -.site development, <br /> trails, gravel parking <br />10,000 Fishing docks <br />210,000 Beach - bathhouse (no utilities), <br /> gravel parking <br />
